A reminder that the Baptism Preparation Course will be held in the basement of Holy Family Church Monday, December 15th at 7:00 p.m. It is very important that parents who plan to have their children baptized in December or January attend this course. It is open to all who plan to have their child baptized that have not already attended the course. (Within the last 4 years). For more information please call the rectory office Monday between 10 am and 4 pm.
Due to the current winter weather conditions, the rectory will be closed for the day.
The CWL gift tree is now ready. You are invited to take a tag from the tree and return it with an age appropriate wrapped gift. These gifts will be donated to the Bathurst Volunteer Center to be given to needy children in our area. All gifts must be returned by Sunday, December 14th. Thank you for your generosity in remembering the needy this Christmas.
Parishioners are invited to make a donation in memory of s loved one towards the Christmas flowers that will adorn the sanctuary this Christmas. Envelopes marked 'flowers' with the name of the person(s) you wish to remember can be deposited in the weekly collection. The names of those being remembered will be on display on a special memory wall in the main entrance of the church. Please include your name to allow your donation to be recorded for income tax purposes.
Planning is underway for the 21st Annual Spaghetti Supper & Auction to be held Sunday, November 30th, 2014. Donations of handcrafted items, preserves and baking would be greatly appreciated. You are also invited to donate new items and items of greater value suitable for auction. Tickets are now on sale before and after the 11:00 a.m. Mass. Cost: $10.00 per person, and family of 4 or more $32.00. Take outs will be available. Tickets will also be available at the Rectory during regular office hours, Tuesday to Friday. (9:30 a.m. -12 noon & 1:30 p.m. - 4:00p.m.)
November 10th winner was Jessica Ryan, winner of $143.00. Congratulations! A reminder for all those who paid for 26 weeks (6 months) there is only two weeks remaining on your number. Payments can be made by using the envelopes located at the entrances of the church, Ideal Gas Bar, North Tetagouche, L'Exit Vanier (Shell), Theriault's Groceries, Bridge Street, ATS-Jeannine's Bakery on the Mines Road or at the rectory office during office hours.
Religious education classes for levels Pre K-K to Level 6 resume this Sunday, October 5th from 10:30 am. until 12 noon.
Preparation for children registered for Confirmation will also begin on Sunday. It will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
This weekend as we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, a blessing of the animals will take place at Daly Point Nature Reserve at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 5th. This blessing will be officiated by Father Wesley Wade and music will be provided by Bernice Winsor. All are welcome.
